Chinese folk paper-cut art is a kind of vitality art created by the laboring people as the main body.Paper cutting is an important part of intangible cultural heritage. In the course of thousands of years of agricultural civilization, paper cutting has gradually formed a unique art system. There are many factors and conditions for the generation of paper cutting. As early as before the paper appeared, stone tools, pottery, jade and engraving technology had the artistic expression of carving. It was not until the extensive use of paper that the paper cutting art gradually became one of the most popular folk arts. With the development of The Times, folk paper-cut art has been developing in themes, materials and techniques, but what remains unchanged is the artistic concept rooted in folk local culture.Xinjiang has a long history of paper-cutting in China. The group flower paper-cutting of Wei,Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties unearthed from Astana Tombs in Turpan region confirms the long history of paper-cutting in Xinjiang. In 1980,Chen Jing initiated the "Xinjiang Folk Paper-cut Research Society" and in 1984,he initiated the national paper-cut art group--China Paper-cut Research Society, which also created a favorable development environment for the inheritance and development of Xinjiang paper-cut.Xinjiang paper-cut includes folk customs, traditional patterns, fresco patterns, current politics, beautiful scenery and other themes, with rich themes and strong regional characteristics.By 2021,Changji has two non-hereditary successors at the state level, and Changji government has given strong support to the inheritance of paper-cut art.Through the use of the relevant theoretical content of iconology, aesthetics, folklore and other disciplines, this paper has made several investigations and visits to Changji City and other areas in Xinjiang, and collected pictures and written materials.I learned the paper-cutting skills from the inheritor, and sorted out and studied the craft process of paper-cutting creation.Based on the research on the inheritance and development of the paper-cut art in Changji, this paper makes a detailed analysis of the historical origin of Xinjiang paper-cut,and takes the paper-cut art of Xu Changqin, the representative non-genetic inheritor of Changji,as an example to analyze its paper-cut theme characteristics, artistic characteristics and cultural and creative product value.Summing up the strengths in the inheritance and development of Changji paper-cut,learning from and communicating better, and promoting the inheritance and innovative development of Xinjiang paper-cut art will be of great reference significance to the development of paper-cut art.
