Silicon manganese alloy is a kind of ferroalloy,which is one of the most important deoxidizers in steel-making process.Its demand is quite large,and its consumption accounts for the second place of ferroalloy products in electric furnace.But at present,the main production method of silicon manganese alloy in our country is relatively extensive pit casting method.Although this method has the advantages of high output and simple process,it will cause a lot of dust,noise pollution and serious waste.Therefore,Ningxia Jiyuan group began to innovate the process and equipment,and designed and manufactured a casting machine based on ingot casting and continuous casting technology.However,there are many problems in the production process of this casting machine,the most serious of which is the mold,such as ablation,mold sticking and even deformation and cracking.Moreover,not only the casting machines designed and manufactured by Jiyuan group,but also all the silicon manganese alloy casting machines using metal molds,whether in China or abroad,will have the above problems more or less.In order to solve the above problems,in this paper,the factors affecting the solidification of Si Mn alloy were discussed,including cooling mode,casting mode,cavity shape,mold material.In order to integrate these factors,and put forward a feasible process and supporting mold for the continuous casting granulation equipment of Silicon manganese alloy.In the process of solidification,it is not easy to measure the internal temperature of the ingot,and the solidification process of the ingot can not be directly observed by naked eyes.Therefore,in this paper,the cooling and solidification process of Si Mn alloy is studied by computer simulation.Firstly,based on the foundry machine designed and manufactured by Jiyuan group,the casting process and principle are analyzed,and the mold used in the simulation is modeled.In order to improve the accuracy of the simulation process,it is necessary to obtain some physical parameters of the silicon manganese alloy.Because the solidus and liquidus of the silicon manganese alloy are very high,and the solid-liquid changes of the metal are also involved in the solidification process,it is almost impossible to find the experimental equipment and instruments that can accurately measure these properties,The physical parameters of Silicon manganese alloy were calculated by jmat-pro,and verified by casting experiment and computer simulation.Then,the casting process is simulated by ProCAST software,and the factors affecting the casting process are explored.Moreover,combined with some suggestions provided by Jiyuan factory,the effects of different cooling methods,different casting methods,different cavity shapes,and even different mold materials on the cooling and solidification process were compared.Finally,through the analysis and research of these factors,this paper designs a set of continuous casting granulation process and its supporting mold based on sand mold casting,that is,using the combination of metal mold and sand mold,on the basis of still maintaining the advantages of ingot mold casting and continuous casting technology,giving full play to the advantages of sand mold.The simulation results show that the new mold has advantages over the pure metal mold in terms of production efficiency,heating and stress,which also proves that the design is effective.
