Bamboo charcoal,which has attracted much attention due to its unique pore structure,adsorption and electric conductivity,is one of the new functional environment-friendly materials.In this paper,the process parameters of inorganic bamboo charcoal based board was expored by preparing bamboo characoal based board with bamboo charcoal and magnesium oxychloride cement(MOC)as raw matarials,palm thread and sisal thread as reinforcing material.It was of great significance to expand the utilization range of bamboo charcoal and promote the economic benefits of application of bamboo charcoal.The effects of raw material ratio and process condition on the physical and mechanical properties of inorganic bamboo charcoal based board were explored in this paper hoping to provide the theoretical and data basis for the actual production.After that,the bamboo charcoal based board was reinforced and modified with fiber addition.The results are followed:(1)The optimal mole ratio of MOC as adhesive was determined as n(Mg O):n(Mg Cl2·6H2O):n(H2O)=7:1:10 after comparing the mechanical property of MOC prepared by different mole ratio.It was found that the higher stacking efficiency showed a certain benefit to build a fine modulus of rupture of bamboo charcoal based board.And there was a negative correlation between bamboo charcoal addition and modulus of rupture.The modulus of rupture of bamboo charcoal-based board was best when the particle size and content of bamboo charcoal respectively was 27-64 mesh and40%.And it was found that the content of 45% showed a very approximative physical and mechanical properties combined with the profile density,but with higher content of bamboo charcoal.Bamboo charcoal based board has the capability of formaldehyde adsorption and excellent dimensional stability.And the MOC could infiltrate into the pore inside bamboo charcoal and form bonding strength through the form of glue nails.(2)The results suggested that a suitable hot-pressing condition was advantageous for MOC to form a better mechanical property of bamboo charcoal based board.The process condition of hot-pressing under the temperature of 90? for 15 min were selected from 25 combinations of different temperature and different time.The appropriate pressure increasing was beneficial for the preparation of compact and uniform bamboo charcoal based board,but the bamboo charcoal particles would be crushed because of its fragile quality when the pressure is too high,resulting in the decline of mechanical properties.The modulus of rupture of bamboo charcoal based board reached the highest after 6 days of curing with some fluctuation of modulus of rupture followed,and it was stable at about 6.5MPa finally.(3)It turned out to be that the better enhancement means of mechanical properties of bamboo charcoal board was addition of sisal thread than palm thread.The modulus of rupture of bamboo charcoal based board showed the 83% increasement after 15 g addition of 40 mm sisal thread.And the12 g addition of 40 mm sisal thread increased the internal bonding strength of bamboo charcoal based board by 70%,which was much better than palm thread.And the addition of fiber cause no significant effect on the dimensional stability of bamboo charcoal based board in the meanwhile.It could be observed through the scanning electron microscope that the dispersed sisal fibers can certainly grasp the MOC matrix forming bonding strength.And there was some hydration products of MOC found inside the sisal thread,but fewer hydration products found inside palm thread.
