With the development of today’s society and economy,the experience economy has followed.Consumers’ needs are no longer just focusing on the material attributes of products,but they are more concerned about whether they can be met spiritually and emotionally.It has become a new demand for current consumers.Affect its desire to buy products.Under the premise of such demand,designers began to explore related methods and theories of product emotional design,which gave birth to Norman’s three-level theory of emotional demand.The current application of his theory is mainly in interaction design,product design,ecological design,etc.,while the application in the field of clothing design is less and relatively single.Therefore,it is particularly important to study the methods of redesigning old clothes based on the emotional needs of consumers.In the fast-paced development of society today,the phenomenon of "fast fashion" in clothing is very serious,resulting in a shorter time for consumers to use clothing after purchasing,resulting in a large number of used clothes,and the waste phenomenon is very serious.For these used clothes,consumption is very serious.Most of them expressed their willingness to continue to use after redesign,which has huge possibilities for the design space and consumer market,and has very profound environmental protection value.As far as the current situation of old clothes redesign is concerned,exaggerated styles are pursued,and homogeneity is serious.The lack of design for the emotional needs of the people who need old clothes redesign cannot meet the urgent needs of consumers.Therefore,this topic takes the redesign of old clothes as the starting point to study the application of emotional design theory in the field of redesign of old clothes.This thesis takes the emotional design theory as the theoretical basis,and deeply researches the innovative ideas and methods of redesigning old clothes.The first part explains the background,writing significance and innovation of this thesis.The second part summarizes and combs the definitions and theories of emotional design and old clothes redesign,and analyzes current development status and development trends based on literature data.On this basis,the three-level theory of emotional needs at the instinct level,behavior level and reflection level is summarized in their corresponding product attributes,and the necessity of introducing the emotional concept into the redesign of old clothes is further explained.The third part is to understand the basic information of consumer groups through questionnaires,their preference for redesigning old clothes,and the degree of emphasis on emotional concepts,and summarize the questionnaires,form a basis,and combine the needs of emotional design The three-level theory further explores the emotional needs of consumers for the redesign of old clothes.In the fourth part,according to the research results,the corresponding demand manifestations of the three-level theory of emotion in the redesign of old clothes are sorted out.The fifth part is to summarize and put forward the final design principles and design methods,and their future development trends and challenges.This topic is an attempt to combine emotional theory with the field of used clothing redesign.It not only expands the scope of the application of emotional design theory,but also refines and perfects the emotional design method of used clothing redesign.Through the writing of this paper,I hope to provide a certain reference for the redesign of old clothes and emotional design.
