Crude oil tanks in our country tend to be larger and denser,and the safety of tank field has become the focus of the research.Lighting,lighting strikes and open fire are all likely to cause a fire of the oil tank.Traditional firefighting system has a large waste of water and foam concentrate,as well as a low utilization of foam.Therefore,the improvement of the traditional firefighting system is of great significance to improve the safety of crude oil tank.In order to decrease the waste of water and improve the impulse and stability of foam,the compressed air foam system(CAFS)was designed and was combined with traditional fixed firefighting system.The calculation of pipeline and selection of pipe components of CAFS were accomplished.The design of foam pipeline on tank wall and installation arrangement of foam nozzle were accomplished.AMESim was used to verify the feasibility of CAFS.The results show that the system designed achieved the automatic adjustment of mixing ratio and the pressure of system was in the optimal range.The effect of opening degree of throttle and the diameter of outlet pipe on the running stability were studied.In order to ensure that the foam can still have a large injection pressure at the exit after a long distance conveying,the rheological behavior of foam in horizontal pipe and vertical pipe were studied respectively.Pressure loss of foam flow was calculated by using power law fluid flow model and homogenous flow model respectively.FLUENT14.0 was adopted to simulate the foam flowing.The results show that the pressure drop was less than0.3MPa,and foam exit can maintain high injection pressure.Intelligent alarm and monitoring of CAFS for crude oil tank were designed.The wireless sensor network and CCD were adopted to monitor the fire of seal fire.The sensor distribution and warning condition were proposed.Lab VIEW was used to design the monitoring interface.Pressure and flow rate can be monitored in real time.The intelligent compressed air foam system which was designed can offer protection for fire detection and fire distinguish of large-scale crude oil tank.
