A large amount of copper slags were produced every year in China with its copper content above 0.5%,which is much higher than the recoverable grade of copper mines in our country.The accumulation of copper slag not only wastes resources but also pollutes the environment.At present,the copper slag is maily treated by desulfurization and ore dressing processes.The ore dressing method only targets sulfide copper slag,which requires higher requirements for copper slag,high capital cost and wide area;the depletion effect of fire law is poor,energy consumption is high,lead to serieous environmental pollution.Aiming to solve the above problems,a technology that reduces the copper content in the slag by short process,good depletion effect and green environmental protection was proposed in the present work.Copper slag and high copper melt were used as raw materials,the physical and chemical properties of copper slag and high copper melt were varied by adding additives and anthracite in order to promote the sediment of copper-containing components in copper slag and reduce copper content in the slag.4?10 tons of expand and 1000 tons of industrial experiments were conducted and achieved good results.The results are listed as following:(1)Results of copper slag depletion experiments showed that SiO2 and FeS can effectively promote the sediment of copper-bearing components when combined with a certain proportion of additive and reducing agent.The optimal experimental conditions are:temperature 1270?,holding time 20 min,argon stirring time 120 s,the mass ratio of copper slag,combination additive and anthracite was 900:60:9,under the optimal condition,the mass fraction of copper in the upper and lower parts of the depleted slag were 0.07%and 0.19%.(2)The rich-copper-melt in the Ausmelt smelting furnace was used as raw material in the sediment experiment,effects of the operating parameters include temperature,holding time,additive and reducing agent addition on sediment of copper-containing components were investigated,the optimal conditions were:temperature 1250?,holding time 20 min,mass ratio of rich-copper-melt,combination additive and anthracite was 300:20:3,under the optimal conditions,the copper content in the upper and lower parts of the copper slag were 0.22%and 0.33%,respectively.(3)The results of 4?10 tons experiment showed that the combination additive and reducing agent can effectively accelerate the sediment of copper-containing components in copper slag.In the experiment of 10 tons,the mass ratio of slag,combination additive and coke mass ratio was 100:6.67:1,the copper content in the slag was reduced to 0.15%.(4)In the 1000-ton experiment,the copper content in the slag began to decrease after adding the additive into the melt 1 hour later.After adding the additive for 6 hours,the copper content of the slag was reduced to 0.35%,reaching an ideal level.
