At present,the semi-trailer tank car is usually designed according to the engineer’s experience,and lacks the corresponding theoretical analysis and calculation.In the design process is likely to have unreasonable phenomenon on local structure,some local structure can bear force more but others not,this can be result material waste and increased weight.In the enterprise practice,these problems can always seen.This car is very unsafe and unreasonable.Therefore,the theoretical analysis and calculation of the structural strength and stiffness of the semi trailer tank car is essential,which has a great guiding role in the actual design and production.In this paper,a new design of a semi trailer tank car structure as the research object.Based on the ANSYS Workbench,the finite element model of the tank body and the frame of the tanker was established.The static analysis and modal analysis were done,the results showed that the structure can meet the design requirements and has the optimization space.So this paper uses topology optimization method based on variable density method to topology optimization of the frame structure.After rebuilding the model with reference to the optimized structure,the number of new beams and the position of the beam relative to the longitudinal beams are re-established,there are 11 beams in the original frame structure.After optimization analysis,it is known that retaining 9 crossbeams can meet the requirements,and the strength,stiffness and modal performance of the 9 retaining beams are analyzed.Through the finite element analysis of the improved structure,this paper can proves that the new structure meets the design requirements.It can be concluded that the rigidity,strength and natural frequency of the new frame structure after topology optimization can all meet the design standards.The overall dynamic performance of the frame can still be guaranteed.Especially the low-order modal frequencies can avoid the resonance caused by the coincidence of the road surface excitation and the vibration frequency of the engine,so that the structure avoids the vibration and meets the design requirements.The frame structure reduces 2 beams with a total weight reduction of 15.2kg,and realizes the lightweight design goal.
