Bamboo is a kind of natural and renewable biomass resource,which has the advantages of excellent properties and abundant yield.It can be used in many fields as a substitute for wood,thus slowing down the shortage of wood resources in China.Among them,BOSB as an environmentally friendly biomass board prepared from bamboo,has been widely used in construction,packaging and other fields.However,due to the high surface strength and hardness of BOSB,it is difficult to make holes and grooves like traditional fibreboard and particleboard.As a result,traditional hardware connectors cannot effectively connect it,which limits its application in furniture products.Therefore,it is necessary to conduct in-depth research on the material,functional structure and assembly of BOSB,promote the establishment of a new type of corner connection mode,and change the connection structure design of traditional furniture,which is of great significance to broaden the application of bamboo OSB board in furniture design.In this paper,BOSB is taken as the research object.Based on the analysis of the physical and mechanical properties of BOSB,such as density,moisture content,static flexural strength and elastic modulus,a new type of splint connector suitable for BOSB is designed and developed,and it is applied to the L-type components of BOSB by means of splicing and bonding.The ultimate moment bearing capacity of the L-shaped BOSB under the action of cantilever load,tension and pressure was studied.In addition,with comparing the connection performance of the splint connectors with common connectors(white connector,roman post fasteners,transparent butterfly connector three-in-one connector,two-in-one connector,wood plug)and combining with the finite element analysis of members under load,this paper analyzed the feasibility of BOSB with splint-type connectors applying to the display props.It provides scientific theoretical basis for the structure design of display props.Analyzed the use of bamboo plywood type to splice fittings type assembly OSB applied to demonstrate the feasibility of display props,can show bamboo OSB board in provide scientific theoretical basis for structure design of display props.The main research work and results completed in this paper are summarized as follows:(1)The physical and mechanical performance test of BOSB shows that the BOSB’s density and moisture content,respectively 1.45 times and 1.77 times that of WOSB board,elastic modulus and static music intensity,respectively about 9 times and 10 times of WOSB.It shows that BOSB has the characteristics of high strength and high hardness,the basic physical and mechanical properties significantly better than WOSB and BOSB fully meet the demand of basic strength and the feasibility of the substitute for WOSB.(2)Analysis of failure modes of L-type components of BOSB under cantilever bending load,compression load and tension load,showing that failure modes of components under three different failure modes mainly include loose and falling off of connectors,warping deformation,local damage or even fracture,and fracture and delamination of plates.Compared with the other six kinds of connectors,the splint connector shows obvious advantages,maintains a complete surface morphology,and its strength and carrying capacity is obviously better than the other six kinds of connectors.In addition,the degree of damage of BOSB is obviously less than that of WOSB which further indicates that the selected BOSB can completely meet the requirements of furniture structural design.(3)Through the bending moment capacity analysis of the L-type components-BOSB under the three kinds of acting force(Cantilever bending load,Compression load and Tension load),it shows that the maximum bending moment of BOSB component is about 1-2 times of the bending moment capacity of WOSB component under three stress states.In addition,splint-type connector’s connection performance is significantly better than three-in-one connector,two-in-one connector,wood plug,transparent butterfly connector,white connector,roman post fasteners.What’s more,under the cantilever bending load,the L-type components adopting the splint-type connector has a maximum bending moment capacities of about 2-15 times that of the other six kinds of connecting members.Under the action of compression,the maximum bending moment capacities is about 2-14 times of the other 6 kinds of connectors,while the maximum bending moment capacities is about 1-7 times that of the other six connectors when the components under the action of tension.(4)Through the BOSB plug type structure analysis,the plate plugging type structure is divided into three types:rectangular card head with card slot form of phase conjugation,U-type card slot vertical joint forms and L-type head with a rectangular groove joint forms.In practical application,these three types of splice forms can be organically combined according to the requirements of product structure,and the assembly combination can complete the assembly of the whole component.(5)Complete nondestructive splice joint form of plate type connector design research and development,BOSB and splint-type connector were analyzed in three different loading mode(cantilever bending load,stress and tension)stress distribution through the finite element analysis software ANSYS 19.0.The load carrying capacity of splint-type connector is the strongest in both BOSB and WOSB compares with other connectors.This splint-type connector can effectively share the component of stress and its deformation is smaller,therefore,the strength of the plate type fittings for BOSB furniture has greater influence on the stability and security of the structure.In addition,in the design of furniture structure with BOSB,in order to ensure the stability and safety of the structure,the member should be protected from the cantilever bending load.The farther the cantilever position is from the node,the greater the deformation under the same load.Moreover,the results also indicated the deformation of the L-type BOSB components under compression was greater than the deformation under the tension load.(6)The splicing form of board and splint joint form designed in this paper realize the nondestructive assembly of BOSB in display props,and the components can be disassembled and used repeatedly,which optimizes the diversity and innovation of its functional structure.
