| Photochromic materials have found potential applications in high capacity optical storage,optical molecular switches.In particular,photochromic fulgimides and fulgides are being studied widely because they exhibit excellent photochromic behavior,and their two isomeric forms are thermally stable and photoreversible,which make them suitable for many electronic applications.Even though a number of these molecules have been studied previously,but their water-solubility is very poor.So additional materials have been developed because of the continuously expanding need for new photochromic molecules with optimal physical and chemical properties.In this page,this article uses Stobbe condensation reaction,the hydrolysis reaction and dehydration reaction to prepare two kinds of water-soluble fulgimides via six steps.The intermediates and final products were characterized and confirmed by ~1H NMR and HR-MS.In this article,we used UV-Vis spectrum to measure the photochromic performance,stability,hydrolytic stability and fatigue resistance of the hydrosoluble carboxylic acid photochromic fulgimides.The results showed that the compound in aprotic solvents has good reversible photochromic properties. |
