Triclosan(TCS),as an antimicrobial agent,is micro-pollutant.The adsorption is one of the main techniques in treatment of micro-pollutant for its simple operation and high efficiency.Activated carbon, resins and natural minerals are widely used in water/wastewater treatment.Activated carbon fiber(ACF),with good adsorption capacity and uniform pore structure, has numerous advantages in removal of micropollutant. As a kind of biomass, palm fiber has extensive sources, low cost and great mechanical strength and it is ideal for preparation of activated carbon fiber. In recent years, reparation of new activated carbon fiber with palm fiber for removal of triclosan is still lack of study. In the present work, activated carbon fiber is prepared with palm fiber and the behavior and mechanic of triclsan are investigated. The research contents and conclusion are listed as follows:1.Activated carbon fiber was prepared from palm fiber by phosphoric acid activation and zinc chloride activation. The result indicated that the activator concentration and activation temperature had a significant impact on its adsorption capacity while the activation time had little effect on its adsorption capacity.By using Design-Expert and BBD method, the optimum preparation conditions were confirmed(H3PO4 of 25%,activation temperature of 400? and activation time of 36h and ZnCl2 of 40%,activation temperature of 700? and activation time of 36h respectively). The product prepared under above conditions had the BET surface area of 1358 m2/g and 1502 m2/g respectively.2.Adsorption and desorption behavior and mechanic of triclosan were systematically investigated.Adsorption of triclosan on activated carbon fibers were exothermic process and the adsorption force were phycical.Adsorption isotherms could be well fit by Langumuir model. The Pseudo-second-order equation could fit the experiment kinetic data. The effect of pH value, inorganic ion and organic matter were systematically investigated. With the increase of pH,the adsorption capacity slightly decreased. For ACFA,the optimum reaction pH value was between 3-6 and for ACFB,the optimum reaction pH value was between 3-7.Interestingly,the presence of inorganic ion and organic matter had little effection on triclosan removal.Ethanol and high temperature calcination could effectively regenerate the adsorbent.3.Ag3PO4-loded activated carbon fiber was prepared and the photocatalytic degradation was investgated. The results shows that the reaction reached equilibrium in 60 min.The reaction rate of Ag3PO4-loded activated carbon fiber was better than powdered Ag3PO4.Addition of tert-butanol showed inhibition on TCS degradation and it indicated that hydroxyl radical played a main roal in the reaction.Ag3PO4-loded activated carbon fiber had a good stability and still had a high degradation after used for 5 times.
