Based on the literature review,this research clarifies the purpose and method of research,and defines the key concepts of MKT for normal students.Taking the Derivative of Unary Function and Their Application in high school as an example,this research studies the development status of MKT for 105 mathematics normal students from a normal college in Fujian Province.The semi-closed questionnaire for MKT was compiled in five dimensions,including “Substantive Knowledge” “Syntactic Knowledge” “Knowledge of Content and Curriculum” “Knowledge of Content and Student” “Knowledge of Content and Teaching”.Through quantitative and qualitative analysis of the results of the questionnaires and interviews,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Normal students' MKT of“Derivative of Unary Function and Their Application” is generally average.From the first-level indicators,SMK is better than PCK;from the second-level indicators,the five dimensions are unbalanced.Normal students have a good grasp of Substantive Knowledge and Syntactic Knowledge of “Derivative of Unary Function and Their Application”.Normal students have a general grasp of KCC as well as KCS of“Derivative of Unary Function and Their Application”.Normal students have the worst grasp of KCT of “Derivative of Unary Function and Their Application”.(2)There are different degrees of relationship between normal students' MKT in various dimensions,among which,there is a moderate correlation between SMK and PCK.(3)Different personal backgrounds have no significant influence on their MKT.Teaching practice and their own reflection are the main factors to generate and increase MKT of normal students.Based on the results of the survey,three suggestions are given to improve the existing“mathematical knowledge for teaching” of normal students:(1)Normal students attach importance to the study of mathematics majors and educational courses to make up for the lack of derivative knowledge;Teachers of professional courses in colleges adjust the classroom teaching modes to help normal students understand and consolidate Subject Matter Knowledge of derivatives.(2)Normal students should take seriously the accumulation of various mathematics education courses and extracurricular knowledge,and strengthen the theoretical knowledge of teaching;normal students should make effective use of various practical opportunities to improve their teaching skills.(3)Pay attention to the balanced development and comprehensive improvement of the five dimensions of MKT.
