Cultivated land is the most precious natural resource of mankind. It is also an important material basis for maintaining social order and stability, ensuring ecology and food security, and promoting urban-rural coordination. The economic construction of China has made great progress since the implementation of reform and opening-up policy, but the rapid progress of urbanization and the continuous growth of population have brought great pressure to the existing cultivated land,as well as the contradiction between supply and demand of cultivated land is increasing. Therefore, protecting cultivated land resources and coordinating its relationship with economic development have become an important task in China. The Yangtze River Delta region is the largest economic zone and the fast-growing urban agglomeration in China. However, due to the high degree of economic agglomeration and population density in this region, human activities have the strongest impact on transformation of land resources, which has caused a series of environmental problems such as disorderly expansion of construction land,high-quality farmland is eroded, and the rapid deterioration of the ecological environment. This paper used the statistical method and establishing the corresponding land use dynamic degree model, analyzed the spatial distribution characteristics of cultivated land area change and cultivated land change dynamic degree in the Yangtze River Delta from 2009 to 2018.Basing on the above analysis, our paper used the principal component analysis method to selected the main influencing factors from three aspects: population growth,socio-economic development and agricultural technology progress.Furthermore,a geographically weighted regression model was established to explore the spatial differentiation characteristics of influencing factors on the change of cultivated land area in different research areas. The result shows:(1)The total amount of cultivated land in the Yangtze River Delta has decreased. From the perspective of time series, the cultivated land area in the Yangtze River Delta waved slightly from 2009 to 2018,it showed a downward trend as a whole. The per capita cultivated land area showed a strong downward trend. From the perspective of spatial pattern, the rapidly decreasing areas of cultivated land was mainly distributed in the southeast, while the slowly decreasing areas of cultivated land was concentrated in the northwest and the slowly increasing areas presented as scattered distribution.(2)There are different spatial correlations between cultivated land resources and main influencing factors.Population(POP)and the total power of agricultural mechanization(TPAM)had positive spatial correlation with cultivated land, and GDP had negative spatial correlation with cultivated land. From 2009 to 2018,the positive impact of population(POP)on cultivated land area in the eastern coastal area was relatively strong, and gradually shifted to the north. The positive impact of the total power of Agricultural Mechanization(TPAM)has been continuously transferred from the central part of the Yangtze River Delta to the south, which proves that the total power of agricultural mechanization has a strong positive impact on the cultivated land area in the hilly areas of Zhejiang Province, and the investment of agricultural mechanization is conducive to the regulation of scattered fields in the hilly areas.Gross domestic product(GDP)is concentrated in the southeast coastal areas, and the negative impact continues to spread inland.(3)The different influencing factors have different distribution characteristics in different regions of the Yangtze River Delta region. Therefore, when formulating corresponding cultivated land protection policies, all provinces and cities should fully consider the coupling relationship between the protection and development of local cultivated land resources and the economic and social environment.Based on the national cultivated land protection policy, all provinces and cities have targeted to formulate the regional cultivated land protection policy system. Therefore, our research is expected to reveal the relationship between economic development and cultivated land protection for providing references for strengthening regional cultivated land management, maintaining the healthy development of regional resources and rational utilization of cultivated land.Figure [19] table [18] reference [95]...
