The Human Genome Project has uncovered the genetic code of human and several important model organisms, which provides important biological resources for medical research, and is of great significance to explore the laws of human inheritance, development and evolution.Chromosome 3 has the lowest fragment duplication ratio in human genome. It has thousands of protein-coding genes and involves hundreds of diseases such as renal cancer and 3P deletion syndrome.Since the 1990s,chromosome 3 has been a hot spot in the field of human genome research. From the perspective of microsatellites, this article explored its distribution differences and characteristics on human chromosome 3,and then explored the potential biological role of microsatellites in structure and function of human genome.Microsatellites are widespread in human genome, showing a high degree of genetic diversity. They are related to a variety of neurological diseases and cancers, and are often used as genetic markers.Related reports indicate that microsatellites are not evenly distributed in the human genome, and the deep meaning of this uneven distribution remains to be studied. In this paper, the distribution characteristics of human chromosome 3 microsatellites were systematically studied by using microsatellites density differential algorithm and related tools, and a density feature map related to the location of microsatellites at the resolution of 1Kbp was established.Through the map, this article found that human chromosome 3 presents a chromosome-wide distribution of the high-density microsatellite accumulations.Subsequently,we conducted an in-depth exploration of the distribution characteristics of their microsatellites by programming and database annotations, and found that(AT)_n played a leading role in them, and unearthed a large number of potential biological associations. The microsatellite landscape maps established in this study clearly presents the distribution characteristics and differences of microsatellites on human chromosome3.Through the analysis of high-density peaks in the map,it is found that some microsatellites are fixed in human chromosome 3 by high density accumulation after a long evolution, which may play an important role in maintaining the stability of genome structure and function. This study further explored the potential relationship between the high-density accumulation of microsatellites including(AT)_n and the structure and function of the genome. This article provides a reference for further exploring the distribution characteristics of human chromosome 3 microsatellites and the biological significance behind it,as well as methods and ideas for the study of microsatellites in other genomes.
