Kuqa depression is located in the northern margin of the Tarim Basin, where salt structures are widely developed and the deformation is very complex, with great differences in different structural belts and different locations of the same structural belt.According to the previous summary, there are many factors leading to salt tectonic deformation, but there is a lack of systematic research on the influence of pre-existing basement structure on salt tectonic deformation.Base on that theory of structural analysis in oil region, the salt structure in Kuqa depression is taken as an object, and the methods of structural analysis, balan profile and numerical simulation are used to study the deformation of salt structure caused by preexisting basement structure;and obtains the following understandings:(1)that salt structure deform in the whole basin when there is no preexisting structure in the basement, and the position of the preexist structure determines the initial deformation position of the salt structure when there is a preexisting basement structure;(2)salt anticline, salt domes, salt dike and other structural styles are formed in that area controlled by the preexisting basement structure unde the action of compressive stress;(3)the influence of preexisting basement faults and palaeohighs on salt structures is basically similar, but the types of salt structural deformation are different according to their different scales and occurrences;(4)that preexist basement structure determines the deformation position and shape of the salt structure,as well as the oil and gas migration path, trap type and accumulation mode. These new understandings are helpful to the study of salt tectonic deformation in salt-bearing basins worldwide, and have a good enlightenment on how different basement structures in basins affect the deformation of salt strata...
