Before more and more attention is paid to the improvement of the environmental quality of the external space of residential districts during the COVID-19 period,Shanghai has actively promoted the renewal and the improvement of the environmental quality of the external space of old residential districts.Based on the unique problems of old residential districts,the improvement of the environmental quality of the external space is to improve the comfort and aesthetics within a limited space.The green facades not only have the functions of traditional greening patterns to adjust the microclimate and beautify the landscape environment,but also have the advantages of a large amount of greenning per unit covering a small area.Therefore,they can be used to improve the environmental quality of the external space of old residential districts.By defining the related concepts of the research objects involved,this paper elaborates the9 forms of green facades and the commonly used plants for climbing green facades,and sorts out the research on the thermal effect and mechanism of green facades by scholars at home and abroad.The factors affecting the thermal effect of green facades are summarized as the own factors and external factors of green facades.Then 50 old settlements within the central districts of Shanghai are selected as representative samples,and the common characteristics of the sample settlements are analyzed and summarized to determine the standard spatial model of old residential districts in Shanghai based on the selected microclimate simulation software ENVImet.The software principle and characteristics set the parameters related to the simulation.Next,five simulation models were established based on the coverage of green facades and the location of the layout,and the ENVI-met software was used to simulate the impact of green facades in summer and winter on the external space microclimate of old residential districts.By analyzing the microclimate change curve and the difference curve in the same period,the influence and extent of different green facades coverage and layout positions on the microclimate in summer and winter is studied;and by analyzing the microclimate distribution and the distribution difference at the same time,the distribution of the impact of green facades in summer and winter on the microclimate is studied;finally,the influence of green facades in summer and winter on the microclimate is compared and analyzed.At the end of the research,this article starts with the mechanism of green facades heating effect and its own factors that affect green facades heating effect,and proposes green facades design method to adjust the external space microclimate of old residential districts in Shanghai,hoping that the effect of green facades on the adjustment of the microclimate will be better utilized,and the environmental quality of the external space of old residential districts in Shanghai will be improved.
