As the physicist,Schrodinger's wave theory laid a solid foundation for modern quantum mechanics. Not limited to the profound study of natural science,Schrodinger also has a profound thinking on philosophical issues.Compared with the wave theory, which has been thoroughly studied by the academic circle,Schrodinger's philosophy is rarely studied. Most of the existing studies have summed up Schrodinger's epistemological realism and ontological materialism from his natural science research. However, there are few discussions on the viewpoints beyond Schrodinger's philosophy of science. The current research content is too concentrated and the conclusion is more general. Therefore, there're many misunderstandings in the existing studies, and even biased evaluation.Actually,Schrodinger's philosophy is pluralistic and dynamic, and his views expressed in different stages and fields are various. In his book Science and Humanism,Schrodinger once expounded the role of philosophy as a guide in scientific work, and his own philosophy really runs through scientific exploration. Therefore,an explicit understanding of Schrodinger's philosophy is conducive to a deep understanding of his scientific attitude,as well as taking his theory as an organic whole, and a deep exploration of Schrodinger's own ideological core and its enlightenment on modern society and scientific research. Therefore,it is necessary to dig deeply into Schrodinger's philosophy and conduct a relatively comprehensive carding and systematic research.Schrodinger's philosophy in different periods and research fields are quite various, which is reflected in methodology, epistemology and ontology. In his early years,Schrodinger mainly studied theoretical physics, and his mechanical causality methodology continued the idea of classical physics; The epistemological thought of wave equation obtained by theoretical presupposition and deduction belongs to rationalism. The mid-term biological research expressed Schrodinger's idea of probability law, which is different from the mechanical law of causality.During the stage,Schrodinger discussed the methodology of causality law in detail, and summarized the strict causality law into the category of probability law. Thus, unifying causality law into the methodology of probability law;At this stage, his epistemological thought gradually changed into empiricism with experiment and observation as the source of knowledge. There are two reasons for the change of Schrodinger's early to mid-term thoughts in methodology and epistemology. On the one hand,in the early period of quantum mechanics,Schrodinger's wave mechanics system derived from presupposition and deductive reasoning lacked complete information about wave functions ? interpretation in practical sense; In addition,as an experimental science, biology takes experiment and observation as the source of experience. Therefore,Schrodinger gave up rationalism. But the common point of Schrodinger's thought in the above two periods was that he always adhered to the materialist world outlook. In his later years,Schrodinger focused on the study of metaphysics and deeply discussed the relationship between matter and mind, the external world and other issues.Through a logical argumentation,he abandoned the concept of the external world, and then got the ontological thought of mind firs.He turned to idealism. The reason for the change of his ontological thought is that Schrodinger was puzzled by the explanation of the relationship between subject and object in natural science. He saw that "the subject that constructed the objective world does not appear in the object world" in natural science research.Dissatisfied with the interpretation of the mechanism of action between matter and mind by natural science theory,Schrodinger asserted the independence between matter and mind. Thus, excluding the concept of the external world from the philosophical category, and finally he gave up the concept of the primacy of matter.Although Schrodinger's philosophical thoughts were diversified, there were still some consistent views throughout each period.Schrodinger tried many times to unify the theories of different methods or different fields, taking the universality of theory as his academic pursuit and belief.Science is divided more and more finely in the 21 st century.Schrodinger's achievements and philosophical thoughts of integrating and unifying theories would of enlightening significance to today's community of scholars.Schrodinger also insisted on determinism and solved problems with rigorous academic attitude. This reminds scholars of the necessity of reflecting on the various scientific methods widely used today based on correlation research. For the contemporary society full of fast-food culture, determinism may promote people reshape the habit of deep thinking and resolve problems more deeply and rationally.
