The discovery of neutrons is a turning point for understanding the internal structure of the nucleus and has great theoretical significance.There are no free neutrons in nature,and free neutrons can be produced by neutron sources such as nuclear decay,nuclear reaction,or high-energy reaction.The neutron generator needs to be evaluated in terms of its yield,angular distribution,and neutron energy spectrum.Considering factors such as scientific research,cost conditions and application requirements,the accelerator neutron source is a cost-effective neutron source.The accelerator neutron source has the advantages of high neutron yield,single-energy neutrons can be obtained in a wide energy range,working in direct current or pulse mode,and low gamma background.In order to optimize the performance indicators of the DD neutron generator and provide a reference for the construction of laboratory generators,the high-voltage breakdown,secondary electron suppression,neutron yield,neutron angular distribution and neutron energy spectrum are studied.The research method is passed The SRIM program simulates the relevant parameters.Through analysis,it is known that as the incident energy of the deuterium ion beam increases,the ion range gradually increases,and the horizontal and vertical dispersion also increases.The increase in sputtering yield will lead to neutron production.The amount is reduced.Combined with the simulation results of SRIM,the Geant4 program was used to build a model to simulate the D-D neutron reaction process,and the relevant index results were obtained.The corresponding conclusions are obtained from the analysis of the simulation results: the incident deuterium ion energy is within 300-600 ke V.Increasing the deuterium ion energy and purifying the deuterium ion beam with the analytical magnet can effectively increase the neutron yield.In terms of target material,increase the deuterium titanium atom Compared with the use of alloy targets with better hydrogen absorption properties,the neutron yield can also be increased;the neutron angular distribution law is that the number of neutrons in the 0° and 180° directions is more,and the 90° direction is the least,and it varies with the incident deuterium ion energy.The increase is more obvious;the neutron has the highest energy in the 0° direction,and gradually decreases with the increase of the exit angle,and reaches the lowest in the 180° direction.The conclusions obtained have certain reference value for the design and construction of neutron generators,and also have certain reference value for the research on the anti-radiation performance of materials and neutron activation analysis.
