Mongol-Ethnobotany is a branch of ethnobotany,and its research content is the traditional knowledge of wild plants used by the Mongolian people.In this paper,ethnobotanical research methods are used to carry out Mongol-Ethnobotany research work in Axihan,Ongniud Banner,Inner Mongolia,and the following results are obtained:(1)A total of 183 folk plant names were listed and 136 evidence specimens were collected.After identification,167 plant names correspond to 123 species,1 subspecies,7 varieties,belonging to 105 genera and 40 families.There exists the phenomenon of “different names with same plant taxon” and“same name with different plant taxa” between the folk plant names and plant taxa.(2)The wild plants used by the local Mongolians can be divided into four categories: edible plants,medicinal plants,forage plants and wild plants for other purposes in daily life.There are 25 species and 2 varieties of wild edible plants,mainly for grain(6 species),vegetable(14 species),edible oil(2species),seasoning(4 species),tea(6 species)and fruit(8 species).Wild medicinal plants include folk Mongolian medicinal plants and folk veterinary medicinal plants.There are 35 species and 1 subspecies of folk Mongolian medicinal plants,all of which are Chinese herbal medicines,29 of which are recorded in Mongolian medicine.There are 7 species of folk veterinary plants.There are 79 species,1 subspecies and 5 varieties of wild forage plants.Among them,there are many species of plants in Gramineae,Compositae,Leguminosae and Chenopodiaceae.According to the quality level of forage plants,there are 44 species of excellent or good forage plants,accounting for51.76 % of the total species number of wild forage plants.There are 31 species and 3 varieties of wild plants used for other purposes in daily life,including construction(10 species),craft(13 species),firewood(11 species),commercial(8 species),ecological(8 species),cultural(6 species)or other(8 species).(3)There are 35 species and 2 varieties of local companion plants,accounting for 28.24% of the total species number of wild use plants in the local area.Axihan Mongolian people have accumulated rich experience and traditional knowledge on the naming and utilization of wild plants through their daily life and production practices,which are scientific and reasonable,and show regional and ethnic characteristics.
