Hand, foot and mouth disease(HFMD)is an infectious disease caused by a group of enteroviruses, which can lead to fever, mouth sores and herpes on hands, feet and buttock-s.There are more than one million reported cases every year in China which constitute a serious damage to the health of infants and young children. In this paper,we propose two HFMD compartmental models with behavior change and imperfect quarantine. The first model considers health status dependent behavior change for each compartment, whereas the second model assumes that behavior change occurs in part of susceptible inidividuals besides symptomatic and quarantined populations. We define the basic reproduction num-ber?0of the models, prove the existence and stability of the equilibria when?0>1,and establish the threshold dynamic results with respect to the basic reproduction number. In particular, the global asymptotic stability of the endemic equilibrium for model one is established.Additionally,we fit the hand, foot and mouth disease data of Shanghai in2019,numerically explore the role of behavior change and quarantine on reducing disease persistence and infection size, and compare two modeling approaches on behavior change.
