With the rapid development of science and technology,more and more countries in the world explore the ocean,which makes the detection,imaging and identification of underwater objects with larger range and higher resolution become the key.It is very difficult to improve the resolution and range of underwater detection by using traditional piezoelectric ceramic transducer,but the appearance of piezoelectric composites can detect underwater targets with high resolution.As the name implies,piezoelectric composites not only have some of the properties of piezoelectric ceramics,but also have the properties of polymer materials,and can work under water for a long time.The high frequency wideband composite transducer developed in this paper is an arc transducer made of 1-3 composite materials,which can be used to detect targets with wide underwater angle range.Firstly,the properties of composites in piezoelectric phase and polymer phase are analyzed by classical homogeneity model and Finite element software,and the effects of different piezoelectric phase and Poisson's ratio on the parameters of 1-3 piezoelectric composites transducer are analyzed.Based on the analysis of the working principle of Model1-3 piezoelectric composite transducer,a Model 1-3 high frequency broadband composite arc transducer is designed and manufactured.The problem that the directivity of ordinary planar transducer decreases with the increase of radiation area is solved.Secondly,the structure of transducer is fabricated,assembled,sealed,vulcanized,hydrostatic pressure tested and so on.Finally,a piezoelectric composite arc transducer with the overall size of 150 mm × 80 mm and the thickness of 60 mm is made.After the development of Model 1-3 HF wideband composite transducer,the transducer's working center frequency is 305 k Hz,the receiving sensitivity is-196 d B,the maximum transmitting voltage response is 153.6d B,and the directivity is 60 °at 300 k Hz.The results show that the transducer made of 1-3 piezoelectric composites has wide frequency response,high sensitivity and pure vibration mode.The transducer has arc shape,which can increase the directivity open angle.
