Taking Tuquan County,Xing'an League,Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region as the study area, four towns/townships with concentrated distribution of Artemisia brachyloba Franch were selected to research influencing factors and protection strategies for this kind of plant.Based on the multitemporal remote sensing images of landsat8-OLI in 2017,the vegetation information extraction model of Artemisia brachyloba Franch was constructed, and the extraction process and accuracy verification were conducted in a typical area. The spatial distribution of Artemisia brachyloba Franch in 1992,2004/2003 and 2017 was analyzed by landscape metrics.Based on the above researches, combined with questionnaire survey, the natural environment factors and human disturbance influencing the distribution of Artemisia brachyloba Franch were studied. The vegetation protection area of Artemisia brachyloba Franch was mapped, the protection strategy was formulated, and the management and protection measures were put forward. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Using multitemporal remote sensing images, according to the characteristics of Artemisia brachyloba Franch area, combined with terrain characteristics,NDVI index and GNDVI index,an information extraction model of Artemisia brachyloba Franch was constructed. The overall classification accuracy was 78.65%,the kappa coefficient was 0.63,the mapping accuracy was 72.13%,and the user accuracy was 75.70%.The results showed that the effect of extracting vegetation information of Artemisia brachyloba Franch from Landsat remote sensing image is ideal, which can meet the needs of identification of concentrated distribution area and ecological protection planning for Artemisia brachyloba Franch.(2)From 1992 to 2017,the distribution area of Artemisia brachyloba Franch has decreased significantly, the number of patches and their connectivity and aggregation has also decreased. This kind of vegetation of Artemisia brachyloba Franch has been damaged seriously, and the extent of transformation into other land cover is larger.Since the implementation of the ecological restoration policies in 2004,the decreasing trend and fragmentation degree have slowed down.(3)Topographic factors have great impact on the distribution area of Artemisia brachyloba Franch. It is mainly distributed in the low mountains and hills with a slope of 5 ° to 20 ° and an altitude of 380 m-580 m.There is no obvious difference among slope aspect. At the scale of the study area, the impact of meteorological factors is no obvious too.The annual precipitation, annual average temperature and annual temperature difference in the study area are not much different. The impact of man-made interference is great, and the degree of human disturbance decreases gradually from east to west.(4)There is little public knowing of Artemisia brachyloba Franch, but many people are aware of protection value of this vegetation, and considered it necessary to strengthen the protection of Artemisia brachyloba Franch. The disturbance degree of Artemisia brachyloba Franch in its concentrated distribution area is 5-8.The key protection area, moderate protection area and general protection area are mapped qualitatively to strengthen the vegetation protection of Artemisia brachyloba Franch.(5)Due to overgrazing, agricultural reclamation and other social activities,as well as the fragile natural conditions in Tuquan County, the vegetation of Artemisia brachyloba Franch has been greatly damaged. Therefore, the vegetation protection strategy of Artemisia brachyloba Franch should be based on the ecological restoration of the whole region, and establish sound soil and water conservation regulations and vegetation protection and management methods.
