Study On The Data Quality And Its Spatial Heterogeneity Of POI In OpenStreetMap

With the development of Web2.0 and the advanced technologies of positioning embedded in mobile devices,Volunteer Geographic Information(VGI)emerges as the times require.OpenStreetMap(OSM)has developed rapidly as one of the most popular VGI projects and attracts more and more people to use its service.As a result of the collection of geographic information in OSM is by the way of VGI,it not only inherits the advantages of the VGI project,but also inherits the shortcomings of the VGI.Because the map data of OSM sources from public volunteers and lacks strict quality controlling methods in data collection process resulting in uncertain data quality in OSM.As a kind of important elements on the web map,Points of Interest(POIs)play an important role in the navigation and other fields.However,the data quality of POI in OSM can vary strongly.In this paper,taking the POI data in OSM as the research object,and analysing on the influencing factors of the quality of POI data in the OSM.This study builds the assessment index of POI data quality in OSM and designs calculation method for each assessment index based on the results of the traditional spatial data quality assessment.Besides,this study establishes the model of the spatial heterogeneity for POI data quality in OSM and reveals the factors affecting the spatial heterogeneity based on the GWR model.Finally,this study explores the data quality assessment method of POI in OSM and its spatial heterogeneity and enriches the theories and methods of the data quality research for OSM.The main contents and innovations of this thesis are as the following:(1)Through the deeply analysing of the map data source,error sources and data application of OSM,explores the factors affecting the quality of POI data in OSM,and builds the assessment index of POI data quality in OSM,besides designs calculation method for each assessment index based on the results of the traditional spatial data quality assessment.(2)By the analysis of the road network density,population distribution,GDP,the map data and the volunteers' distribution of OSM,uses the method of geographically weighted regression,establishes the model of the spatial heterogeneity for POI data quality in OSM and reveals the factors affecting the spatial heterogeneity.(3)Based on the model of the spatial heterogeneity for POI data quality in OSM,chooses the different regions of OSM,and studies the spatial heterogeneity of POI data quality in different regions.
