The Comparison Of Yardang Landform At Home And Abroad On The Base Of Dunhuang

Yardang landform has the important value in geomorphology and sedimentology,hydrological geology,tectonics,ecology,aesthetics,tourism and so on.Named after hundred years,geologists at home and abroad done a lot of work for its research.But there are still many questions,for example definition is not strictly uniform,measurements of forming age are not accurate,classification system is not unified,etc.Especially in contrast the yardang landform,few people were studied.This paper studied yardang landform in the Geopark,based on works done by the geological relics survey and assessment of CUG and materials collected,hoping can make a contribution to theoretical research,exploitation,protection and popularization.This article first to introduce physical geography and geology of geopark,then clarify yardang and soil forest,mud forest,danxia landform,clearing the object of study.Then discuss the scale,stratum,formation age,structure,origin,development process,classify,development and utilization of yardang landform in geopark.State distribution of yardang in the word,select the Junggar basin,Turpan basin,Qaidam basin,Lop nur region,Lut Desert,Um Al-Rimam,Pannonian basin,Ebro depression,Bodélé basin,Libyan Desert,Egypt’s western desert,Rogers lake,Cronese basin,compares and analyses yardang landform in these place from The above aspects,and draw a conclusion.Yardang landform’s area in five continents is Africa,Asia,South America,North America,Europe,from big to small.The key difference between yardang and soil forest,mud forest,danxia landform is the difference of origin.Definition of yardang should be extended.In my opinion it is that form in Quaternary,distribute in areas where dry and have unidirectional wind,the streamlined landscape ridge between groove parallel to each other.
