| Women whose primary insurance provider was a federal funded entity were examined on their usage of specific services. By using data from the California Health Interview survey (CHIS) two broad sub-population were created and examined. One population was Medi-Cal recipients, the state run government funded insurance program, and the other recipients of Tricare, insurance supplied to military members and their families. The data was run processed through SPSS analyzing software to produce Chi Squared examinations based on the data supplied. When examining doctor's office visits trends in these two populations, it was found that neither population was statistically relevant. As for emergency room visits, it was found that female patient with Medi-Cal were more likely to visit a doctor's office then a female Tricare patient. This relation was found to be statistically relevant and being a female with Medi-Cal is a good indicator to if the patient were to use these services. |
