The purpose of this thesis is to present the idea of how to embed Social Informatics at the Operating System Kernel level to better integrate the information content with the demographic of online social networks (OSN) and the society as a whole. Every OSN represents communities of online users digitally and their interactions around the information contents. The coupling of social informatics and OS kernel enables data analytics and social computing applications to be developed via a unified platform. In this thesis, we present our system-level design and a prototype implementation to demonstrate its usefulness and feasibility.
