Abstract/Summary:
A single energy electron beam model can be used to aid TWT collector design. A more accurate description of a TWT electron beam is a single beam composed of multiple energy level electron beamlets. A multiple energy electron beam would be one which represents a non laminar, variable charge density, variable velocity beam of multiple voltages, currents, radii, and radial slopes. The difference between the single energy and multiple energy electron beam models is found in the space charge effect, the space charge effect for a single beamlet in a multiple energy electron beam is the sum of electric field effects from all beamlets. The proposed Collector IV model is a multiple energy electron beam model, that models the complete electron beam as an array of beamlets.
