The hope is to use modern computer technology to present an interesting subject and with the intention of depicting important historical events and the lives of important figures involved in the Ottoman empire (i.e., the Turkish empire) on a GIS map to enhance student activity and make the experience more enjoyable and fulfilling.;The application will provide interactive maps of the countries involved in the Ottoman empire. The information will be described using images, videos and visual graphics to better understand and grasp. The tool will provide interactive graphical information of rise and growth of the empire, points of interests, demographics of Ottoman empire from 13th century through 18th century. GIS technologies like JAVA, eclipse IDE and Map Objects will be used to develop this tool.;Map layers were created according to the requirement depicting geographical points of significance or polygon layers. The tool was made in such a way that students can perform things like adding layers, removing layers, adding points of significance, selecting and making new layers. The map also has a help tab giving more information on how to use the features.;GIS technologies like JAVA, eclipse IDE and Map Objects - JAVA edition were used to develop this tool.
