This thesis is an exploration of how psyche and soul can speak through an art-making process. This thesis explores how the art-making process can be used as an aesthetic medium to create a relationship with the phenomena that arise when one's inner world and outer world come into relationship with each other, providing a space for emergence. Research on archetypal figures, internal family systems theory, aspects of Self, and a study of my own art process is incorporated, shifting this thesis into an alchemical hermeneutic methodology. This thesis provides research to indicate how the art-making process can be used to reanimate and redefine one's world and their relationship to it. I also explore how the art-making process continues to push oneself to a threshold where they are reminded to come back home to oneself. |
