Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this study was to determine if there were correlations between lumbar lordosis, angle of pelvic tilt and hamstring muscle length in static erect posture. Measurements of lumbar lordosis, angle of pelvic tilt and hamstring muscle length were taken of thirty healthy physical therapy student volunteers ranging in age from 20 to 30 years old. The degree of lumbar lordosis was measured using a flexible ruler and the angle of pelvic tilt was obtained using a caliper and an inclinometer. An index for hamstring muscle length was established from the degree of hip flexion obtained during a straight leg raise test. The angle of hip flexion was measured using a universal goniometer. The ICC values obtained for intratester (test-retest) measurements of lumbar lordosis, pelvic tilt and hamstring muscle length were 0.55, 0.66 and 0.80 respectively. (Abstract shortened by UMI.)...
