Abstract/Summary:
The ANSYS computer program is a large-scale, general purpose computer program for the solution of several classes of engineering analysis problems. Analysis capabilities include static and dynamic behavior of structural and mechanical systems; elastic, plastic, creep and swelling; buckling; small and large deflections; steady state and transient heat transfer; fluid and current flow.;ANSYS was initially written by Dr. John A. Swanson in 1970. It has been continuously updated through the present. The versions of the ANSYS which is used in this thesis is 4.3.;The purpose of this thesis is to help the new user to start working with ANSYS without spending a great deal of time with the various manuals available. Concentration is on the structural mechanics capabilities of ANSYS. The instructions are intended for Prime 750 computer users. Portions of this thesis have been condensed from several ANSYS manuals.
