Abstract/Summary:
The emergence of information technology in the realm of commercial real estate firms has significantly influenced the organizational and operational realities of the real estate industry. In particular, it has streamlined business processes to the degree that fundamental roles within firms have been changed, leading to more efficient means to conduct transactions.; This project involved the attitudinal analysis of (2) major Canadian commercial real estate firms toward the adoption of online listings services to promote business development. Through the use of case studies and literature review, an attempt to balance the corporate reality with generalization was promoted.; Overriding the project were presumptions of the effectiveness of the implementation of online listings services in the industry. Primary to the research was the requirement to achieve an impression of the attitudes of industry leaders to its implementation within the working environment.
