Abstract/Summary:
This thesis addresses the topic of information seeking behavior in the Latino community of Pacifica, California. It examines information, information sources, information providing agencies and personal contacts and puts in perspective the use of information by the Latino community.;The thesis analyzes the influence that different factors have upon the receipt of information by the Latino individual. Modes of transmission of information and their importance are also discussed.;Research on the subject of information seeking behavior reveals that different groups tend to use different ways of obtaining information. For the Latino community this is no exception. Latinos tend to use certain information sources more than others.
