he purpose of this study was to determine whether elevated scores on several MMPI-2 validity scales (L, K, Mp, Wsd, S) represent defensive underreporting of symptoms (the traditional view) or are better conceptualized as (perhaps overly) positive self-presentation (PSP) which has at least some basis in reality.
