Abstract/Summary:
Computer aided design programs have evolved with the development of related hardware and competition. Each software is written in a particular computer language for a specific type of hardware. As complexities increase, an engineer needs to have access to different kinds of software and hardwares. This makes process costly, due to high investment and maintenance. As software are tightly hooked with specific hardware, they cannot be used from different platforms leading to high overhead. Solution to this is the use of Java Language for the development of programs and the Internet as a medium of distribution. Engineering Tool Box demonstrates this concept through its different modules accessible from any computer type with any browser. Programs have graphical user interface with results displayed graphically. This cost effective and yet equally efficient Tool Box lays foundation for a new era of Computer Aided Design.
