| I performed my internship with SPSS Inc. over the period of March 10-June 27, 1997, working as a Writer in the Publications Department. During that time, I became acquainted with the company's documentation procedures, which included writing the manual and online help simultaneously using a single-source process. I wrote the manual and online help for allCLEAR 4.0, an update of an existing flowcharting application that SPSS had recently purchased. Over the course of the development cycle, I not only wrote the necessary documentation, but also I contributed significantly to the design of the final software product. My technical writing, human factors, and usability training helped me assess product designs and recommend changes that increased overall product usability. |
