Abstract/Summary:
In this work a graphical post-processor is developed using the object-oriented paradigm for two dimensional and three dimensional finite element problems. For two and three dimensional problems triangular and tetrahedral finite elements are considered respectively.A finite element post-processor interprets the finite element analysis results and helps in realizing the deformation and stress states of the finite element model under any kind of load. It is imperative for a finite element program to be continuously upgradable so that newer element types and analysis methods can be easily incorporated to the existing finite element tool. With these two views in mind, the present work is done by developing a program using the object-oriented methods and techniques. This program consists of completely reusable classes for rapid future developments and is also provided with three dimensional rendering and animation capabilities and advanced user interface facilities to reduce user interaction time.
