Abstract/Summary: | |
ESRC's Enhanced DPSS is a Dispatcher/Operator Training Simulator. It has operational features that include power plant models, Automatic Generation Control model and a network model. It provides a stable simulation environment identical to real-time in which the Power System Operators/Dispatchers can be trained to handle "real-world" day-to-day situations and emergency conditions in Power Systems. The Singer-Link Emulator emulates the Gas and Lignite Singer-Link units existing at TU Electric's Athens Training Center. The design of the Singer-Link Emulator was to emulate as close as possible the real-world Singer-Link units so that their integration with the Enhanced DPSS would be as trouble free as possible. The Singer-Link Emulator thus provided a test-bed for the simulation of all the digital/analog signals necessary to emulate the Singer-Link units. TU Electric intends to use ESRC's Enhanced DPSS to train its dispatchers/operators and thus prepare them for an unpleasant eventuality such as a system blackstart/restoration. |
