This application work utilized the TM320C6711 Digital Signal Processing Kit (DSK) by Texas Instruments in combination with the subband coding technique using existing Daubechies and Biorthogonal filter banks obtained through MATLAB. The C6711 was programmed in C mixed with assembly to meet real-time standards for three different scenarios, a 1-stage 2-band reconstruction, a 2-stage 3-band reconstruction, and a 3-stage 4-band reconstruction. The performance of four different filter banks, such as the Daubechies 4-tap and 8-tap filter banks, and the Biorthogonal 5/3 and 9/7 filter banks were analyzed and compared under the three different circumstances. |
