Abstract/Summary:
Optical fiber is used in a variety of applications. The most important application of fiber is probably for high speed communication networks where a single fiber is used to transfer a tremendous amount of voice and data. Besides that fiber can also be used for biomedical and chemical gas sensors.; A new application of fiber is reported by second order nonlinear optical response in organic thin film fabricated on fiber core using Ionically Self-Assembled Monolayers (ISAM) technique. This technique has many advantages for depositing nonlinear organic ultra thin film on a substrate for Non-Centro symmetric properties that can be realized for many photonic applications, including high speed electro-optic modulation, frequency doubling and all optical switching.
