Abstract/Summary:
One of the major impairments of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems is the introduction of frequency offset errors. An OFDM signal with a frequency offset causes a loss in orthogonality, which introduces intercarrier interference (ICI) among OFDM subcarriers. In this study, the intercarrier interference (ICI) phenomenon will be mathematically derived and illustrated. This study reviews 2 published techniques demonstrating intercarrier interference mitigation. Each of the mitigation techniques will be modeled and be subjected under computer simulation. The effectiveness of each technique will be evaluated based on bit error rate curves.
