This thesis explores the arena of counseling and discipline in the public school system. It introduces a new approach to dealing with problems found in children of the early elementary population. Said approach is rooted in the object relations school of thought. More specifically, it is based primarily on the work of Donald Woods Winncott. The model created in this thesis includes framework for relationship/assessment and goal setting, strategy selection and implementation, and evaluation and termination. The thesis also addresses application of the framework within the target population. Due to the nature of this project limited results and conclusion can be made. |
