Abstract/Summary:
This research is about the design and implementation of an adaptive filter on Texas Instruments (TI) TMS320C6711 Digital Signal Processor. Least Mean Square (LMS) algorithm-using momentum is used in this design. Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is done using the adaptive filter. An adaptive system can automatically adapt in the face of changing environments and changing system requirements. So an adaptive filter will be able to change with the signal, or to learn the incoming signal's characteristics. Adaptive filters are computational devices that attempt to model the relationships between two or more signals in an iterative manner. The coefficients of an adaptive filter are updated by an adaptive algorithm to optimize filter response to the desired performance criterion. The performance of the filter is analyzed by loading the assembly code based on TMS320C6711 into DSP Starter Kit (DSK).
