This study of 238 high school students, grades nine through eleven at Yellow Medicine East High School in rural Granite Falls, Minnesota examined perceived parental involvement and its relationship to their grade point average (GPA). Students completed a questionnaire with questions focusing on authoritative parental involvement. The data from the questionnaire was then tabulated and compared to the GPA of each student. This study found that highly perceived authoritative parenting style/parental involvement is reported by students with a GPA of 3.0 or better.
