Abstract/Summary:
Rapidly changing technology, particularly in the area of digital and network printer connectivity, was heavily impacting the Mexican and Latin American markets of Konica Business Technologies, Inc. In response, the author led the development of a technology plan for the company's technical education division in Mexico City. The material is presented as a case study organized around each step that occurred in the plan's development.; This study uses qualitative methodology and data collection methods including observations, surveys, interviews with management and instructional personnel, and focus groups. The study draws from an extensive amount of research and literature in the area of technology education and is centered on the hypothesis that technology planning will bring clarity and long-term direction for the use of technology in both instructional and management practices (Hopey & Harvey-Morgan 1995).
