Abstract/Summary:
Drohan surveys several traditional conceptualizations of the sign, and offers his own based on an existential analysis. This conception, called 'liquid semiosis', is then compared and contrasted to Deleuze and Guattari's reaserch into the sign in Thousand Plateaus. Focusing on their exploration of "Several Regimes of Signs", Drohan finds some Regimes imbued with an ontological contradiction that has broad destructive potential. In order to avoid this, Drohan proposes several means of 'Semiotic Disruption' that can be used to disrupt these destructive Regimes, and prevent their disasters.
