The purpose of this grant proposal is to extend mental health services by hiring a full-time Spanish-speaking school mental health social worker to work 5 days a week at Henry T. Gage Middle School. This grant consists of an extensive literature review that illustrates information about the target population and the significant mental health issues that affect students from vulnerable communities. It also contains information about evidence-based mental health programs and strategies that school mental health social workers provide to students that enhance their well-being and healthy development. An extensive grant search was completed in efforts to find a potential funding source for the proposed program. The search for a selected funding source was done through the United States Department of Education website and other government grant websites. The Drug-Free School Elementary and Secondary School Counseling Program grant was identified as a potential funding source. As a result, a grant proposal was written to solicit funds for the proposed program. |
