The purpose of this study was to examine the time post-onset of stroke and quality of life and the relationship between physical activities and functional capacity. The Framingham Physical Activity Index and the Stroke Specific-Quality of Life questionnaires were used to evaluate stroke survivors' normal 24 hour physical activity levels and quality of life, respectively. To assess functional capacity, the Senior Fitness Test was utilized. Spearman correlations were calculated to determine if a relationship existed between variables. Significance was set at p <.05 level. Statistical significance was found between lower body strength and quality of life ( r = 0.38). However, no statistically significant relationships were found between hypotheses. |
