Abstract/Summary:
This thesis presents the measurement of the B + meson production cross section and the differential cross section, dsigma/dpT, from pp¯ collisions at s = 1.8 TeV. The B+ meson is fully reconstructed using the exclusive decay B+ → J/ y K+ with J/ y → mu+mu-. The data set, consisting of about 110 pb-1, was recorded by the Collider Detector at Fermilab during the 1992--1995 Tevatron run. The B+ meson cross section was measured to be 3.52 +/- 0.38(stat) +/- 0.46(sys) mub. The differential cross section is also presented.
