The L-shell X-rays of tantalum by collision of 20~55 MeV F5+ions and 20~45 MeV O5+ions,as well as the L-shell X-rays of aurum by collision of 20~50 MeV C4+ ions, were measured on the HI-13 Tandem Accelerator at CIAE.Relative production cross sections of tantalum L-shell and L-subshell x-rays,along with absolute cross production sections of aurum L-shell and L-subshell x-rays,were calculated according to the experimental data.On the other hand,we obtained the values of ionization cross sections by using the plane-wave Born approximation(PWBA)and ECPSSR theoretical models, and then transformed them into the values of L-subshell X-ray production cross sections,by using the radiative transition probability,Coster-Kroning transition probability, and fluorescence yield. After that, the theoretical predictions were compared with the experimental results. The experimental data ofσ(L1)/σ(Lα),σ(Lγ)/σ(Lα),andσ(Ltotal)/σ(Lα)for Ta have a reasonable agreement with theoretical predictions. But the value ofσ(Lβ)/σ(Lα)is smaller than both PWBA and ECPSSR predictions.Furthermore,a good agreement between experiment data and theoretical predictions ofσ(L1),σ(Lα),(Lβ),σ(Lγ) andσ(Ltotal)for Au is observed.
