Abstract/Summary:
In communication systems, limitations on power and bandwidth restriction impose the use of novel techniques with high spectral efficiency.; The MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) communication systems are beyond the most powerful techniques having emerged recently. They consist of several antennas in both emission and reception. Research has shown that these systems are able to achieve high spectral efficiency. With the development of high speed digital signal processing techniques, this spectral efficiency can be obtained with powerful but relatively complex systems.; In this thesis, some detection techniques are examined. Parallelizable and modular reception architectures are then proposed. They are classified according to their complexity and their performances. Simulation results have shown that the proposed architecture, called partial parallel interference cancellation based on a modified parallel detection second stage (PPIC-MPD), is more powerful than classical sequential detections with comparable complexity.
